Hi all.
I'm thinking of purchasing an Apollo, the specs say it has a 21 mp camera whith a sony sensor (pretty much the same as my z3+) which should take great pictures. however on the forum on the vernee website there are people complaining about the camera quality. can somone shed some light on this for me please, maybe post some pictures taken with the apollo?
Thanks

The camera is not very good, is actually not good at all, in my opinion. There are a lot of reviews of the phone containing photo and video samples, search it, you should make an idea.

Good hardware but horrible camera software. So, the same situation as on Apollo Lite? I guess Vernee will never learn...

apparently they are using the same code used in lite, overall not just camera my opinion: not worth it. if you want something better than apollo lite maybe try UMI Z/Zpro

It looks like the Non-Lite version has the same poor camera optimisation as the the Lite version then. It'll be interesting to see whether the MAD ROMs for the Lite work on the Non-Lite version. Perhaps if someone is feeling brave, and makes sure they do a backup of their current ROM before trying, they could try it.
I'm not 100% sure if this is right, but aren't the only differences the overclocked Helio X20 (X25 variant) and more RAM?

I could try but wait for vernee to put full zip rom in support site. Email them to hurry up to put the device on the service page. Oh. The device has same amount of ram as lite. Only diffrent is storage(64gb) and camera(21mp) and screen. Im no expert but i could try out stuff as soon they update their site :-) www.kimovil.com/en/compare/vernee-apollo,vernee-apollo-4gb-64gb Oh and the phone network works better then lite version(2g for phone calls)

Fards maybe could help us. Twrp could be good for root and xposed. And with fards knowledge he could fix stuff. But without having the device is going to be difficult for him

Thanks , I have the Apollo smartphone. Everything is working but the camera has problems. When I want to film the camera freezes. When I want to use the camera in an app the camera freezes also e.g. a barcode scanner app. When I restart the phone the camera works again. I can take pictures. But using an app with camera function or filming the camera freezes again. Also the flashlight icon was gone. I have done a factory reset. Installed the first download from your site. The camera still is not able to film. I had the flashlight icon back and it worked. When using a barcode scan app the camera freezes again and after a restart the flashlight icon is gone. Also the same with the second download, latest OTA. I also cleared the cache of the phone. When I installed the latest OTA the flashlight is back, using an app with flashlight function, the flashlight doesn’t work. After a reset the flashlight icon is gone again. The flashlight still works with the camera. When the flashlight icon is visible the flashlight works when pressing the icon. Filming still freezes the camera and I get a message, see photo. So I can’t film, I can’t use apps with camera or flashlight function. After a restart the flashlight doesn’t work. I'd this software related? I have the latest OTA. Is this a known problem? What can I do.

The camera is perfect if you play around and make lots of changes to the settings took me a lot of messing around with to get good results. Night time tho filming is bad unless hitting 4k mode and 4k in total darkness is bang on the money is high quality and not taking up much space at all well depending on how long you recording for. Lot could be improved with the software as its got a kick ass 21MP cam that is let down with software. We need AOSP N version on this as I found with AOSP was flawless on my xpera series of phones. Just need hang in their I guess for someone to make it happen. Am also wondering if will see Jolla on it as looks like an interesting way of platform thats been rolled out too
