Since this issue is the biggest pain in the ass for me on stock ROM i was wondering if anyone has managed to pinpoint exactly what's causing it and is there a way to fix it on stock ROM. I've seen someone mentioning it on Vernee's official forum that this can be caused by an 'old' SIM card (mine is currently 13 years old ) and the issue can be resolved with new SIM card. Since I'm pretty lazy to go to my operator to get a new SIM cards (and greedy bastards are probably want money for that) can anyone confirm if new SIM card fixes battery drain? EDIT: Damn, my bad, wrong section, Viper can you please move it to 'Stock ROM Bugs'

I don't have an issue with battery drain on stock rom. Actually, I think it's the one thing that I didn't have a problem with Maybe you should check the apps installed?

After the installing 3rd-OTA 20160920 full update battery draining about 2x compared to before. With the 20160729 from the factory phone could go almost 2-full days average use. I just upgraded the 3rd-OTAto kill off the annoying wireless available update messages. Had 2nd-OTA on another phone it was good too, having trouble going back to that version though.

The thing is, even with this battery drain i still get through whole day without recharging the phone. So it's just annoying for me that phone wastes 20-30% of it's battery doing nothing useful. As for apps, it happens on a clean stock ROM (I've messed up rooting the phone so i had to re-flash stock ROM), without any additional apps installed. EDIT: chucker: is that a dog or a wild boar on you avatar?

Main battery drain is due to phone idle.
From initial investigations that's down to it polling for a signal all the time
I tried changing this and it's made it worse.
Still working out how mediatek are doing the ril. It is mtk that wrote the software, not vernee. experimenting with other things at the mo to get past this.
