There were some initial manufacturing faults, which can be expected since that was their second phone and they opted for metal body instead of a plastic one which is much more forgiving that the metal. But except the cracking bezel problems, other issues only happened to few people (not that I'm justifying Vernee, but just remember Note 7, few bad batteries and whole series was scrapped) so that is not that bad...
Software, on the other was/is awful, considering it's basically naked AOSP ROM they just needed to make sure it works with new Helio X20 chipset but even after 3 or 4 OTAs (don't even know how many, after 3rd one i stopped relying on Vernee and went to custom ROMs) they failed to fix basic issues that have existed since day one.
As far as accessories goes, the only problem for me is that damn soft TPU case which is still non existent.

Really, Honor 5X cases are great for the Apollo Lite if you trim things carefully and don't mind it not hugging perfectly on top and/or bottom.
I am happy with it so far.

I'm still using mine at the moment too. It does the job. But it would be nice to have a proper you case made specifically for this phone. I find it odd that there's none at all.

I'm checking theire Facebook page frequently - nothing new here. I think that (and the xda-db) are the "first feeds" for any news to catch

They've still not posted anything about finding a fix for the battery drain yet. Hopefully they'll sort it soon though.

Argh, suddenly the people I call experience some kind of a returning echo of their own voice. I don't reckon modifying anything software wise but yesterday my phone rebooted by itself (first time happening) and my wallpaper changed.
Now this echo. Wth.

Varnished promises updates that never happens and no communication! MAD since the release of the rom i saw no info if he continued or stop looking! I had good hope but it is fainting! Decu they let us fall because to leave roms for all is good but we really needed it because our smartphone one of real problems!

Well, it does seem that development has slowed down a bit, but still this is a lot more than what many other Chinese phones get. Also, currently focus is on Android 7 so it will take some time to get it done. Anyway, we've gotten faaar more from unofficial ROMs than we did from Vernee, so I'm happy with that. There are still issues with battery drain, but this is a major issue on M.A.D's ROM, on others it's not so bad. Camera sucks, and that needs to be fixed. Of course, if the hardware is really what Vernee advertised, if it's some Chinese 16MP copy, then we're lucky with what we've got. All in all, we did good, the only one who is to be blamed is Vernee and that's it...

Bad news from the MAD Team:
Battery stuff is really weird... Maybe some thing is not compatible with nougat at all... <br /> We basically tried everything, <br /> From removing every mtk related driver (just kept the minimum to get it boot), to adding more mtk stuff, using other ramdisk, built cm14... Everytime device does not sleep. <br /> One could think it's the kernel then... But no. Our kernel sleeps on stock Android 6 rom more than stock kernel. <br /> And stock kernel does not sleep on our rom.... But our rom works on every other device... <br /> Conclusion, it has to be something device specific, but not the kernel... Which we already replaced everything...

Yep, when azmodanfury mentioned that there is also a battery drain on his UMI super phone which uses Helio P10 chipset, it has to be some device that both chipsets use, so in the end it's probably a driver issue. I'm afraid that will never be fixed. So it seems that battery drain will be there permanently. I guess it's time to go and search for a new phone, and get as far away from Mediatek as possible
